The small community of Livadi hides on the east coast of the Peloponnese where the mountains meet the sea. It has the most lovely bay and pebble beach .
There are two typical Greek Tavernas serving delicious fresh food.
The shops are in the very Greek resort of Tyros (10 minutes by car) or the delightful old market town of Leonidion ( 10 minutes the other way).
There are no clubs or bars in Livadi and no hotels, only sea, sun, and true tranquility.
This area was isolated from the rest of Greece and only now with the new motorway from Athens to Tripoli has it become accessible. The journey takes about 3 hours from Athens airport leaving the motorway after an hour and a half to drive down the coast with the mountains on one side of the road and the sea on the other. Even in August the road is quiet but watch out for the goats and the donkeys..........
The Peloponnese is almost unknown to visitors and retains that unsophisticated charm that is the real Greece.
